Goalkeeper Lyndsey Munoz had a great game, making 10 saves – including a free-position stop with just 33 seconds on the clock to preserve a one goal lead. Munoz also picked up a team-best four ground balls.
“She was really locked in all tournament so I hope this gives her a lot of confidence going into the NCAA Tournament,” Bokker said. “She did awesome and was really focused, and knew she wanted to win a championship.”
Stanford had a balanced scoring attack, getting two goals from Hannah Farr, Anna Kim and Lucy Dikeou. Rachel Ozer also found the back of the net, increasing her team-leading season total to 47.

NCAA Lacrosse: USC Women’s Lacrosse Had “Remarkable First Year” In 2013 As Head Coach Lindsey Munday And Staff Used Top Freshman Class To Make MPSF Tournament

USC Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Lindsey Munday, AD Pat Haden, JK McKay And Hilary Bowen

USC Athletic Director Pat Haden commented on USC Women’s Lacrosse first season:
“It seems like Lindsey Munday has been here a decade, but this is just their first year of competition. She is phenomenal. She is still a great player as the captain of the U.S. National Team. Everyone thought we would just be slaughtered in our first year playing mostly freshmen, but we have some of the best freshmen in the country. Lindsey has recruited fantastically, particularly back East, and this freshmen class is going to be a part of something special by the time they are done here. It was a remarkable first year for this program, Lindsey and her staff.”

NCAA Lacrosse: #11 Denver Women’s Lacrosse (16-1) Faces USC In MPSF Tournament On May 2

Denver Women's Lacrosse vs USC MPSF Tournament

The No. 11 University of Denver women’s lacrosse team heads to the four-team Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women’s Lacrosse Championship, hosted by the University of Oregon, as the No. 1 seed for the fourth time in the past seven seasons.
The Pioneers (16-1, 8-0 MPSF) will face No. 4 seeded Southern California (8-9, 5-3 MPSF) in the semifinals on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. MT. No. 2 Stanford (11-5, 6-2 MPSF) will take on No. 3 California (9-6, 6-2 MPSF) in the other semifinal game.
DU is 6-10 all-time in the MPSF Tournament, which started in 2004. The Pioneers were defeated by Stanford in the semifinals last year in Palo Alto, Calif. The Cardinal have won seven MSPF Tournament titles. Oregon won the conference crown in 2012.
Denver rides a team-record 14-game winning streak into the contest. DU swept the conference regular season for the fourth time in head coach Liza Kelly’s seven years. The Pioneers look to claim the program’s first MPSF Tournament championship.
“We are excited to be headed to Eugene as the No. 1 seed,” Kelly said. “We are focused on the USC game on Thursday. We have been a team that has played well on the road this season and are looking ahead to the challenge of the tournament.”
Redshirt-senior Kara Secora (Denver, Colo.) became DU’s all-time leading scorer after recording four goals and two assists against Oregon last Friday. Secora now has 261 career points, moving her past Karen Morton (2006-09) for the all-time mark.

NCAA Lacrosse: USC Women’s Lacrosse Holds On For A Huge 12-11 Win Over San Diego State On April 27; Secure #4 Seed In MPSF Tournament

USC Women's Lacrosse vs San Diego State

In a dramatic regular-season finish, the USC women’s lacrosse team earned a 12-11 victory over San Diego State to seize fourth place in the final Mountain Pacific Sports Federation standings and claim the final spot in the conference postseason tournament. In their inaugural season, the Women of Troy (8-9, 5-3 MPSF) finished three spots higher than the league’s coaches had predicted in a preseason poll as they wrestled away the win from the Aztecs (8-8, 3-5 MPSF) at Aztec Lacrosse Field on Saturday, April 27.
“For us, our main goal has been improving throughout the year, and we did that,” said head coach Lindsey Munday. “There was a stretch in the middle of the season where we had a couple of losses in games that we maybe could have won. I’m really proud of the girls for not shutting down, then. We’re really excited to have the opportunity to play in the MPSF tournament. It’s really special and I’m really proud of the girls.”
Final statistics were much like the final score. USC out-shot SDSU, 23-22, and had one more draw control, 13-12, and both teams were in a dead heat for ground balls, 11-all.
The Trojans got big performances from freshman attack Caroline Cordrey and freshman midfield Amanda Johansen. Each player tied for game-high honors with five points apiece. Both scored four goals and had an assist on the day. Johansen grabbed two draw controls and picked up four ground balls while Cordrey had two ground balls and three draw controls. The pair combined to help USC go three-for-three on free-positions shots. Cordrey had two and Johansen had the other.
“The reason I played well was because our team was hustling so hard all over the field,” said Cordrey. “Everybody was picking up. We were doing all the little things right. That translated to offense and me being able to get the goals. It was the ground ball on defense that somebody picked up, to the pass in the midfield, to the transition, to everybody playing selfless. I think we just played 100 percent like a team.”
USC’s other scorers were freshman midfield Haleigh Dalmass who had a pair of goals and freshman attack Caroline de Lyra who had two goals and an assist. Freshman defender Kelsey Dreyer was solid in the backfield with four draw controls, four caused turnovers, and three ground balls. In the cage, freshman goalie Liz Shaeffer picked up six saves for the Trojans.

University of Denver redshirt-senior Kara Secora (Denver, Colo.) had four goals and two assists while breaking DU’s career scoring record, leading the No. 11 Pioneers to a 14-6 victory over Oregon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on Friday evening. Secora now has 261 career point, moving her past Karen Morton (2006-09) for the all-time mark.
The victory extends Denver’s school-record winning streak to 14 games, and DU’s 16 victories this season tie the school-record, set by the 2007 squad. It also marked the fourth time under head coach Liza Kelly that the Pioneers (16-1, 8-0 MPSF) have gone undefeated in conference play.
Sophomore Jill Remenapp (Woodbine, Md.) tallied four goals, three assists and four ground balls, while junior Jenn Etzel (Bel Air, Md.) finished with two goals and one assist. NCAA Lacrosse: UC Davis Women’s Lacrosse Upsets #14 Stanford 15-14 In Overtime On April 25

UC Davis Women's Lacrosse vs Stanford

Senior attacker Elizabeth Datino scored on a second-chance crease roll with 2.5 seconds remaining in overtime to lift UC Davis to a 15-14 upset of 14th-ranked Stanford in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women’s lacrosse Senior Night finale at Aggie Stadium Thursday night.
The Aggies finish their season at 6-9 overall and 3-5 in conference play. The Cardinal move to 10-5 for the year and 5-2 in MPSF games.
Thursday’s win marks UC Davis’ first over Stanford since a 16-13 home victory on April 2, 2000, ending a streak of 19 straight losses in the series. It also represents the first time the Aggies have ever defeated a team ranked in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Top 20.
Datino led UC Davis with five goals while junior Carly Voris tallied a career-high four. Senior Hannah Mirza, sophomore Elizabeth Landry and sophomore Meghan Jordan each added two scores. Landry also recorded four assists for six total points while Jordan chipped in another three. Sophomore goalkeeper Kai Murphy recorded 11 saves.
For Stanford, sophomore attacker Kyle Fraser matched Datino’s total of five goals. Sophomore Hannah Farr and freshman Julia Burns each posted three goals with an assist. Junior goalkeeper Lyndsey Munoz finished with 11 saves.
Although Farr drew first blood with her unassisted goal just 75 seconds into the contest, UC Davis seized an early lead with three unanswered through the 10th minute. The Cardinal managed to cut the lead to a single goal on two different occasions in the first half. The Aggies clung to a 5-4 lead at halftime.
