Western Lacrosse Recruiting: 2009 Adrenaline Lacrosse Recruiting Programs Play Important Role In NCAA Commitments, Including 46 Out Of 50 NCAA Players From California

This success rate is something that Adrenaline President Alex Cade is very proud of. "We are thrilled with our success rate over the 2009 season. My entire staff works very hard on each event to ensure that western players realize their goals of playing collegiate lacrosse. Our numbers in areas where we have a particularly strong presence even surprised me. It is exciting to put numbers on how effective our events are at matching players with recruiters and programs. It is especially satisfying for me to see the players from last years class achieve success. That was the first class that started in the Adrenaline Youth Leagues in 5th grade and progressed all the way through our programs. I was very proud of those boys and our role in being able to help them over the years."

Adrenaline Lacrosse completed its first annual audit of western lacrosse players committed to play NCAA lacrosse in the 2009 season.  The resulting numbers are a strong indicator of the explosion in talented western players and also the role that Adrenaline Lacrosse has played in this explosion.  Impressively, of the 145 players from the West who were on 2009 NCAA rosters, 93 came though Adrenaline Recruiting Programs.  More impressive are the statistics on specific pockets in the West, such as the state of California, where 46 out of 50 NCAA players, 93%, came through Adrenaline recruiting events.

With the addition of the Adrenaline Showcase last summer Adrenaline is confident those success rates will continue to climb.  Rory Doucette VP of Recruitment and Team Operations explains; “The recruiters have been thrilled with their ability to find western players at our events.  They don’t want to travel all over the West to find players.

Unfortunately, with the way the talent out West is spread out over such a large area, especially when compared to the East. They simply can’t take the time to visit every pocket of lacrosse.  We provide a great service to the recruiters by getting the top talent in one place at one time; making it much easier for them to find the guys they want.  I was very excited, but not altogether shocked when I saw our success rates.  As a former NCAA recruiter I knew how valuable these events were.  While we are very enthusiastic about these numbers, we remain focused on making our events even more efficient in the future.”

Western Lacrosse Recruiting: Adrenaline Lacrosse “High Rollers Camp” To Feature 250 Of The Top Western High School Lacrosse Players At Whittier College On Nov. 20-22

adrenaline_logoThere is no setting more fit for the Adrenaline High Rollers Camp (Nov. 20-22) and the top 250 players in the western United States than Whittier College. The westernmost of only a handful of NCAA programs in the West, Whittier is the sole NCAA Division III program in California. Whittier also has the distinct honor of being the most successful NCAA program in the West.

Inside LacrosseSince becoming sanctioned in 2000, Whittier has been ranked in the Top 20 four times, made the NCAA playoffs three times and has one Final Four appearance in 2003. New head coach Brian Kelly, a member of Whittier’s ’03 Final Four team, will serve as the field director alongside Notre Dame’s Gerry Byrne, who will once again be the Clinic Director, for this year’s Adrenaline High Rollers.

Kelly is excited to host such rich talent at his school.

“We are very fortunate to be working with Adrenaline Lacrosse to bring High Rollers to our campus,” he said. “Hosting such a high quality recruiting event is certainly going to be a huge asset for our lacrosse program. Getting 250 of the best players in the West visiting our campus this fall will represent a tremendous value from a recruiting standpoint”

The seventh annual Adrenaline High Rollers will take place Nov. 20-22. This is the first of two highly touted Adrenaline “Primetime Recruiting Events” on the yearly calendar, the other one being the more selective Adrenaline Showcase, which some of the High Rollers players will qualify to be invited to attend in July. High Rollers has the top players from every pocket of lacrosse in the West attend based on coachs’ recommendations.

Players hail from Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Northern and Southern California, Colorado, Canada and Idaho. Many of the current western players that are on NCAA rosters have passed through this event.

The level of play has dramatically improved over the years as witnessed by Adrenaline President Alex Cade.

“Over the past few years the talent level has seen a tremendous spike which has been great for both recruiters and players,” said Cade. “Last year it was awesome to see not only the sophomores and juniors getting on coaches’ radars early but also seniors who had slipped through the cracks being picked up by coaches filling late holes in their recruiting classes.”

Format wise, players are split into teams amongst two divisions (Freshman/Sophomore and Junior/Senior) to compete in front of 40 NCAA recruiters, the majority of which are representing Division I programs.

Adrenaline’s VP of recruitment & team events, and former NCAA asst. Coach for Tufts Rory Doucette explains: “The way we have this event organized, coaches will be able to focus in on exactly what they’re here to find. Some guys are looking to finalize this year’s recruiting class, while others are already looking a year or two ahead. We remain focused on finding the right collegiate program for each player at this event, and this format helps us succeed in that.”

The recruiter list includes top DI programs: Army, Bellarmine, Brown, Dartmouth, Drexel, Duke, Fairfield, Georgetown, Hobart, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Robert Morris, Stony Brook, Syracuse, Towson, Maryland, UMBC, Denver, Vermont and Yale. Realizing that not every player is of NCAA DI caliber Adrenaline also has a handful of NCAA Divisions II and III and MCLA coaches on hand.

Advanced college-level clinics will be directed for the second year by Gerry Byrne, whose Notre Dame team comes off a 15-1 2009 season. Notre Dame is also the most successful western program at the Division I level, having made the NCAA Tournament nine out of the last 10 years including a Final Four appearance in 2001.

The combination of the top talent in the West and top-level NCAA coaches as clinicians has made this annual event a huge success and considerable driving force behind the massive explosion of western players emerging in the collegiate scene.

In true West Coast style, attending players are geared up fully by the appropriate Adrenaline Lacrosse sponsors. Players will be head to toe in the newly released 2010 Adrenaline Movement line. Additionally players will receive a pair of custom 2010 Warrior Burn cleats for participating.

Media partner Inside Lacrosse will also be providing coverage of this event on InsideLacrosse.com. As an added bonus players attending this event also qualify to be evaluated for Inside Lacrosse’s Young Guns National Recruiting Rankings.

More information on this event, including a video wrap-up of last year’s event, can be found on the Adrenaline Website at www.adrenalinelacrosse.com under Primetime Recruit Events, High Rollers.

Coaches with player recommendations may fill out a form on the High Rollers portion of the Adrenaline Website or contact info@adrenalinelacrosse.com.

Adrenaline Lacrosse Shootout: All-Star Game Features Standout Players From California, Colorado, Texas And Utah

Adrenaline Lacrosse campsThe Adrenaline All-Star Game went off with “great success” on Sunday, and was the highlight of an awesome day of lax. Featuring the top 50 players at the Shootout, the game was a display of quality lacrosse ending in 9-8 last second victory for South Swell.

Inside LacrosseThere were more than a few spectacular plays and it was a treat to be able to watch such high quality lacrosse. As with any all-star game, there were a few standout plays.

As I mentioned yesterday, Tyler Eckeroth from Foss is Boss, stole the spotlight. More than a few recruiters said he was the best player out there, and his behind the back assist to JJ Jackson solidified their claims.

However, with all the recruiters in attendance the players seemed most comfortable playing within their abilities, and the and result was clean, hard fought game.

With a plethora of talent in the All-Star Game, it was difficult for any one player to stand out but here are a few players who impressed me, either for their toughness or creative plays.

JJ Jackson (TX): Attack: Team leader, looked very strong even though he has a sprained ankle. Tenacious rider, overall tough player. Finished with 2 goals and 1 assist.

Kody Klimes (CA): Goalie: Great communicator, team leader. Clears the ball very well, looked promising.

Austin Schacht (CO): Middie: Smooth player, quick release. Shoots the ball faster than Hockstar.

Zack Bullett (UT): Defense: Played very well today throughout the entire game. Solid defenseman, young, rangy. Good stick.

California Lacrosse Camps: Adrenaline Lacrosse Summer Day Camps

Adrenaline Lacrosse camps

SUMMER DAY CAMPS

“The day camp programs have been a staple of Adrenaline Lacrosse since our inception in 2001.  They have consistently evolved to meet the growing needs of the players in each Western region, with the ultimate goal of increasing skill level. To do this, Adrenaline increased the staffing standards insisting on NCAA coaches for directors whose leadership and knowledge truly set us apart.  The other staff members we attract from our network are also the best of the best in the lacrosse world.  What is really cool is to see the hometown heroes, who are now successful NCAA collegiate players, get so excited to come back and work with the local youth players.  These local kids all know of the guys who went to play NCAA ball and get real excited to see them every summer.”
