
The USC women’s lacrosse program will introduce 18 freshmen when it opens play for its inaugural season in the spring of 2013. The Women of Troy signed and welcome the program’s first-ever recruiting class to campus with high expectations announced first-year head coach Lindsey Munday. “We are so excited to officially welcome 18 freshmen to the Trojan Lacrosse Family,” said Munday. “This is a very special year for our program, and we are thrilled to have these players on board. This is a very talented group of athletes that will need to make an impact right away. The class has the leadership that we need as a young program, but most importantly, this group brings a passion for lacrosse and a desire for USC Lacrosse make an impact during our inaugural season.” 13 of the new Trojans hail from the East Coast with 11 from the states of New Jersey and New York. USC adds just one player from the state of California: Liz Shaeffer of El Dorado Hills (Oak Ridge HS). Maggie Mawhinney has California ties from Murietta but moved to Fort Collins, Colo. to prep at Poudre HS.
