NCAA Women’s Lacrosse: Latest IWLCA Poll Ranks Northwestern Women’s Lacrosse #1 Followed By Syracuse, Florida, Maryland And North Carolina

This week's poll reflects the outcome of the ACC championship game from last Monday, a game held a day after the previous poll was voted upon. Thus, North Carolina, the runner-up to Maryland, dropped two spots without playing last week. More conference tournaments, of the ALC, Big East and Ivy League among them, unfold this weekend. The results will certainly have an impact on NCAA tournament seeding come Selection Sunday, and the next Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll on Tuesday. Who's Hot: Cornell: The Big Red started on a 6-1 run and beat Brown, 16-8, to end its regular season. Cornell is the No. 3 seed for the Ivy League tournament and will face second-seeded Dartmouth, although the Big Red is now ranked higher than the Big Green by the coaches. Loyola (Md.): Although they lost to Syracuse 13-12 on Friday, the Greyhounds could be encouraged by the result. The Orange have outscored opponents by an average of 7.24 goals per game this season, but only edged Loyola at the Carrier Dome.
