Sparked by a ferocious fourth-quarter rally, Brother Rice defeated arch rival Catholic Central for the third time this season, 16-10, to win the Division 1 state championship.

It is Rice’s eighth straight state championship and 13th in the past 15 years. Incredibly, the Warriors haven’t lost to a Michigan-based team since 2002.
“It was a complete team effort,” exclaimed head coach Rob Ambrose, whose overall record at Rice is a sparkling 323-33. “Our defense played well all year, even with two sophomores. Different kids stepped up at different times when we needed them.
