The Lafayette women's lacrosse team has announced 10 student-athletes, including defender Victoria Maxon from Holy Names Academy, Bothell, WA, that will join the team as members of the Class of 2013. The players hail from five different states and also include three All-America honorable mention players.

 Four-year letter winner and starter..Captain during her senior season, Team MVP as a sophomore and senior….Competed with national tournament team “NW1 ” her sophomore and junior year…Won first ever Cayuga Championship at WDNT 2008… Was a two-time Academic All-American, Honorable Mention All-American, two-time First Team All-State her junior and senior years…Played club lacrosse for Puget Sound Select, Seattle Rainz and X-Team… Holds 2 blackbelts in martial arts as a junior and adult…Three-year member of  National Honor Society…Scored perfect 800 on SAT 2 math exam…Valedictorian of her 2009 graduating class.

Orange County High School Boys Lacrosse Coaches: Final Call For Capistrano Valley High School Boys Lacrosse Head Coach Applications For 2009/2010 Season

capistrano valley lacrooseCapistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, CA (South Orange County) is seeking a Head Coach for their Boys’ Lacrosse team for the 2009/2010 Spring season which begins in February and runs through the middle of May. 

  • Practices generally held at night due to field availability
  • CVHS is in Division I Pacific Coast League which competes against teams such as San Clemente High School, Tesoro, Dana Hills High, and Mission Viejo High School
  • It is a walk-on coaching position with the Head Coach determining coaches for the assistant positions as well as JV. 
  • Do not need to be a teacher, but need to interviewed through and hired by the district and be fingerprinted, etc. 
  • Strong Booster Club Support
  • Young, talented varsity players with a great feeder program from surrounding junior high schools
  • Great school, great opportunity to build your own program and continue play through summer/fall/winter leagues if you desire. 
  • Experience with coaching high school and strong college resume preferred.

California Lacrosse Camps: Santa Clara University Overnight Lacrosse Camp On August 1-5

This will be our 3rd year at Santa Clara University and we’re very excited to be back. With camper numbers increasing each year, we expect the 2009 camp to fill up quickly. Santa Clara University is located just north of San Jose in California’s Silicon Valley. This palm tree lined campus provides an idyllic setting for the daily, thorough lacrosse training that Xcelerate provides. The pristine playing fields are conveniently located near the mission style residential buildings and dining facilities, providing a comfortable and safe recreational environment. Entering grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 in September 2009

>> GOALIE PROGRAM
Entering grades 6 to 12 (goalies are placed in one of two instructional divisions based on age and skill level)

OVERNIGHT CAMPER
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT Check-in is 12:00pm to 2:00pm on day one. The first field session is at 2:45pm. The first meal on day one is dinner and the last meal on the final day is breakfast. Check-out on the final day is at 11:30am.

EXTENDED DAY CAMPER
CHECK-IN / CHECK OUT: Check-in is 2:00pm on day one. The first field session is at 2:45pm. The first meal is dinner on day one and the last meal is dinner on day four. After day one, extended day campers check in daily at 9am and are to be picked up at 8:30pm each evening. Check-out on the final day is at 11:30am.

A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP SCHEDULE VARIES AT EACH LOCATION
We have three sessions per day. Early in the week we do a great deal of instructing and then progress towards playing a lot of games later in the week. We also like to throw into the mix a number of “fun” activities, like our Jalbert Obstacle Course, camper/coach games, skills contests, fastest shot contests, laxgolf, pool time (depending on location), and rec time. We make sure everyone is having fun! Below is a template and is subject to change at each location.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE TRANSPORTATION
Free ‘Airport Flyer’ shuttle bus service is provided by the VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) between the San Jose Airport and Santa Clara University (Bus #10). The Airport Flyer makes a continuous loop between the Metro Light Rail Station, the Santa Clara Caltrain Station and the Airport Terminals. Campers should take the bus from the Airport Terminal to the Caltrain Station and then walk to check-in. A new shuttle departs each designated stopping point approximately every 10-15 minutes. PAYMENT
Full payment must accompany applications submitted after April 1st. If registering online, a ‘convenience’ credit card fee will apply. This fee usually ranges between $10 and $20 depending on the tuition.

ROOM KEY DEPOSITS
Campers are required to submit a $100 room key deposit check at registration made out to Xcelerate Lacrosse, LLC. NO CASH OR CREDIT CARDS WILL BE ACCEPTED. The deposit check will be returned at check-out when the room key is returned.
