The La Costa Canyon Boys lacrosse team overwhelmed Cathedral Catholic 15-3 for a date with top-seeded Coronado in the championship match at 5 p.m., also at Helix.
Timmy Andrews, Alex Perdieux, T.C. Whaley and Michael Gennuso scored two goals each and 10 different players scored as the No. 2 Mavericks won their 14th straight game.
“Our defense has been a staple all year,” LCC coach Dallas Hartley said. “It’s one of the best defenses around.
“We wanted to go into this last game hot and we got what we wanted, another shot at Coronado, which is a very good team.”
