The UCI Men’s Lacrosse Team have selected there captains for the 2009 lacrosse season. The Captains are Zach Smith, Anthony Santos, and Jason Nguyen. In 2008, Zach Smith scored 8 goals and had 1 assist as a midfielder in his second year playing for UCI. This year, Zach has made the move to attack and will be leading that squad in the new season. Anthony Santos played his first lacrosse season ever last year and made an immediate impact on the field. Anthony scored two goals in his first season and took the bulk of the face-offs for the team. This year, he is coming back with a year under his belt and as the captain of the midfield unit. Jason Nguyen returns for his second year as Captain of the defense for the  ’09 season. He played as a close defense and as the backup goalie for the Anteater squad.
